A New Chapter in Research
University leaders, faculty, staff, investigators, and partners recently gathered for the official kick-off of Advancing Chronic Disease Health Disparities Research: The RCMI at UH. The event marked the beginning of the center’s five-year effort to expand UH’s research capabilities and accelerate discoveries that improve the prevention and management of chronic disease.
Attendees learned about the RCMI’s four integrated cores, its research projects, and the opportunities it will create for investigators across the University. The gathering also provided an early opportunity to strengthen connections among the people whose expertise and collaboration will bring the center’s ambitious vision to life.
More than a celebration, the kick-off signaled that the work is underway. The RCMI at UH is now building the research infrastructure, scientific talent, and partnerships needed to turn promising discoveries into measurable population benefit.
